DEVELOPEMENT;DOUBLE STREAM

DEVELOPMENT: DOUBLE STREAM
Number of classes and teachers slowly increased. Till 1943 there was only a
division each in all forms. In 1944, Preparatory class became double stream; this
pattern continued till 1947, so that by that year each form had two streams.
However, in the year 1945, Preparatory class was taken out of the middle school
and jointed with the primary section. However, in 1954, those who jointed primary
one class did not study in the Preparatory class in 1958; instead they were put
along with those who were already in Preparatory class in the Middle school; This
meant the 1954 primary one batch needed only 10 years system continued since
that time.
As number of classes and pupils increased, it became imperative to construct
additional class rooms facilities. The verandad of the old block became staff room
and headmaster’s office, and an additional semi-per- manent class room block was
constructed to house classes of which two rooms were built by one of a new
teachers who were appointed in 1956. Hindi teaching commenced in 1950, while
sewing and craft were introduced in 1956. Music became part of the curriculam in
1970.
The slow growth continued. In 1950 there were 6 classes, 9 teachers, and 216
pupils; 1956 there were only 6 classes but 10 teachers 228 pupils.
